Dr. Carpenter joined NCH in 1981. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Dr. Carpenter completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Carpenter is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a Fellow with the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and past College Governor for South Dakota, American College of Cardiology. Dr. Carpenter is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine.
